According to the Democratic Party, few things have changed from January
21st 2011 to now. Same as when they were in power, the Democrats insist
today from the opposition that the Socialist Party is using the January
21st victims for political profit.
The Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, then Minister of Interior, was very brief but clear in his position, when asked about the accusations he launched against Prime Minister Edi Rama, about the missing justice during his joint commemoration of January 21st with the Socialist Movement for Integration.
“The consequences of January 21st cannot be divided from the cause. Those who caused January 21st, are those who today desecrated the memory of the January 21st victims”, declared the Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha.
A few minutes before this position, the former Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, reacted on his Facebook page saying that the attack against the Council of Ministers on January 21st was coordinated by the Socialist Party leader, Edi Rama, for taking power through violence.
According to the former Prime Minister, this is the real reason about the protest. Berisha declared that the notebook of Ilir Meta was just a pretext used by Edi Rama.
Praising the protection of the institution and the constitutional order with self-denial and heroism from the police forces and the National Guard, the former Prime Minister expresses his condolences to the victims of January 21st and denounces it as the worst event in the last 80 years of the Albania state.
