The Court of Appeal gave a final decision for the January 21st case,
against the former National Guard Commander, Ndrea Prendi, and former
National Guard officer, Agim Llupo.
The Court found them guilty for manslaughter, sentencing Prendi to one year in prison and Agim Llupo to three.
The defendants were represented by the defensive lawyers, who declared for the media that they would file a complaint for the verdict.
The judge panel was made of Ervin Metalla, Agim Bendo and Evgjeni Sinoimeri.
One day ago the Prosecutors Shkelqim Hajdari and Altin Dumani reacted against the conclusions, by challenging the verdict of the Court of First Instance, saying that the court had not even analyzed the evidence. They asked 23 years for Prendi and 25 for Llupo.
“This court is being contradictory for Prendi’s case, and are not listing the causes why this individual was found innocent. The charges against him are personal and not addressed to the National Guard”.
The Prosecutors continued by opposing the verdict of the first instance and accusing the court of not analyzing the exact location of the protesters and what they were doing.
“The victims have concrete names and the court should minimally mention each of them, rather than identifying them with the crowd”.
