The Kosovo Parliament Speaker, Jakup Krasniqi, declared this Monday that
for overcoming the situation after the LDK left the electoral reform
commission, the solution must come from those who signed the agreement
for the president.
Krasniqi underlined that this would not be considered a wrong agreement, but a pact that must be respected.
“An agreement that resulted with a resolution of the Kosovo Parliament cannot be called wrong. The Kosovo politics must learn to respect the Parliament’s decisions and agreements”, Krasniqi declared.
As for the LDK, which has abandoned the work at the Parliamentary Commission with the arguments that the political agreement is not being respected, they insist that it should be implemented. According to the LDK, the Presidential election should be held by the end of the year.
As for the next opposition party, the AAK, which has never been part of the political agreement for the President declare that it is necessary to improve the electoral code without setting conditions with the agreement implementation.
A few days ago, the Kosovo Prime Minister, Hashim Thaci, invited the LDK to stop boycotting the political processes in the country and underlined that the presidential mandate issue is clear with the Constitutional Court decision.
