Ivanov against Berisha and Thaci

The Macedonian President, Djordje Ivanov, declared in his last year’s
speech that there are still individuals in the region who have radical
ideas of greater countries.

He added that these declarations are absurd and used only for political profits. Although he didn’t mention any name, Ivanov seems to have addressed these words to the Albanian Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, regarding his declaration about the unification of Albanians in one single state, and also addressed to the Prime Minister of Kosovo, who promised that Kosovo will be a guardian of the Albanians’ rights in Macedonia.

“Even this year, absurd and offensive declarations were launched towards Macedonia by politicians in our neighbor countries, but they did not provoke us. Not only in the Republic of Macedonia, there are still individuals with radical ideas of greater countries”, Ivanov declared.

“I want to answer to these ideas by quoting one of the father of Europe, the Great Calegri, who declared 90 years ago that there is only one radical option to give a right and long-term solution to the border issue in Balkans, and this is to change the borders, not removing them”, he added.

The Albanian MPs boycotted the speech of the Macedonian President, who declared: “President Ivanov is not President of Macedonia, but of a single party, the VMRO. He works directly under the directives of Prime Minister Gruevski. Ivanov despised the Albanian people and their history by not joining the celebrations in Tirana for the 100th anniversary of independence”, declared Flamure Kreci, MP with the National Democratic Renaissance”,.

The Macedonian opposition reacted by accusing him of turning into a spokesperson of Prime Minister Nikolla Gruevski.
