The Macedonian President, Gjorgje Ivanov, asked Zoran Zaev guarantee
that the unity of state will be preserved in case he gives the mandate.

After meeting with the US Assistant Secretary of State, Hoyt Brian Yee, the President declared that he condemns every act of violence, and that solutions should be brought only through dialogue.

Ivanov underlined that if parties have real leadership, the legal and political obstacle for creating the next government may be overcome.

Sources have confirmed that the President has asked the US to help removing the obstacles that don’t allow him to authorize the new government.

“Precedents that turn into practice and illegality that becomes legal, undermine the basic democratic principles”, he answered.

Ivanov asked Zaev to keep the word he has given publicly and offer guarantee for improving the country’s unity, based on the Constitution.
