An inflatable boat attracted the attention of passerby citizens in the
San Cataldo coast of Puglia, near the natural park Le Cesine, making the
authorities to go and check the site.
The patrol followed the traces of the vessel on land, and found 150 kilograms of marijuana, hidden in the protected area of the natural park.
The authorities then arrested a 26 years old Albanian citizen, who was found close to the place where the drug was stashed. Police are looking for another person, who seems to have disappeared.
Investigators say that the drug was coming from Albania. They note that the police have increased their guard recently, adding their efforts in the fight against marijuana traffic.
The drug network that brought this quantity from Albania has branches in the entire region, especially Italy.
