Through a solemn ceremony in Arona, the Piemonte District in Northern
Italy, was honored with the medal “Civil Values” the Albanian citizen
Blerim Shkrepi.

The young Albanian who lives in Italy since 2002 was considered by the Italian President for the heroic act of saving the life of a six-year-old child.

By the end of 2008, when passing casually by a burning house, Blerim did not hesitate to enter through the flames and pull out the child who was staying alone in the middle of the flames. Blerim declared that after seeing the house in fire, an inner voice pushed him to enter and pull out the horrified child.

The fire was created by a short circuit in the Christmas tree decorations, and the festive atmosphere of those days made Blerim be seen as an angel that saved a child from death.
