The Italian Minister of Interior, Angelino Alfano, explained for
Brussels the collaboration of his country with Albania for facing a
possible flux of refugees from Greece to Italy, going across our
country.
Alfano confirmed that there have been negotiations between Prime Ministers Rama and Renzi for this.
“The work done so far with Turkey serves for this. My Prime Minister is working with the Albanian Prime Minister, and I am working with the Albanian Minister of Interior, who arrived in Rome last week. I will go to Albania in the days to come, to work together and make whatever is possible to prevent terrorism and illegal immigration. We have no evidence about terrorism so far, but we will keep observing the situation
If Turkey and the Balkan itineraries will be blocked, this path might be possibly followed by refugees. So far, we have this only from logic, not facts”, Alfano said.
