Italian Arberesh music band inspired by Albanian music

Peppa Marriti band are back again with a remake of the Albanian Arbersh folk song, “25 gersheta”.
This is the second video of the Arberesh band, who explain on the video that the music of their original country, Albania, inspires their creations.
The video is shot in Amendolara, Calabria. In this video are featured not only the Arberesh band, but also the folk dance group “Shqiponjat”, who perform with Arberesh costumes.
The Arberesh of Italy are descendants of the Albanians who fled their country in the 15th century, after the death of Skanderbeg and before the Ottoman invasion. They have preserved their identity, language and customs even today, after many centuries.
