After more than two years in trials, the former administrator of DIA, Kastriot Ismailaj, was sentenced by the Court of Tirana with 11 years in prison for Fraud with Serious Consequences and Laundering Products of Criminal Acts.
The Head of the Judge Panel, Vjollca Spahiu, ruled for seizing 4.5 million USD and 12 million ALL, which were frozen fron Ismailaj’s accounts.
The verdict was issued this Wednesday after a marathon session, in which the Judge himself tried for more than two hours to convince the Court that he was not guilty.
The Court found him guilty for illegally obtaining more than 5 million EUR from CEZ Distribution.
