Ismail Morina may be extradited to Belgrade very soon, after a decision
taken by the Croatian Court of First Instance a few days ago.
In an interview for Top Channel, his brother, Xhevahir Morina, told the story of his arrest.
“Our father died and Ismail decided to come for the funeral, but he didn’t have the Albanian passport. It was seized by the government of Albania. When we were crossing border in Croatia, he was arrested because he didn’t have the Albanian passport by just the Italian documents. He has been for two months in prison and no one from the Albanian government or embassy shoed any interest”, Xhevahir Morina said.
According to Ismail’s brother, a few days remain until his lawyer takes an official effort to avoid extradition.
“My brother told me to do everything possible so that he is not sent to Belgrade. I appeal the Prime Minister and the Justice Minister to help us. I appeal anyone who can help us”, Morina said.
