“The Traitor’s Niche”, the work Albania’s famous writer, Ismail Kadare, was selected among the six best authors for the EBRD Literary Prize.
Kadare competes against five other world-renowned writers, including Orhan Pamuk.
Written 40 years ago in Albanian, titled “Kamarja e Turpit”, as a parody on the communist dictatorship, this work was translated into English only the last year.
The award ceremony will be held on April 10th. This is the first time that the EBRD gives literary awards, which will be followed by 20,000 EUR.
