ISIS militant caught with explosives

Ervin Duka from the Guras village, Pogradec, was arrested after police found explosives and ammunition at his house.

The 29-year-old father of one child was partially paralyzed in 2014 during his fighting in Syria, as an ISIS member. After returning from the war, he was kept under close watch by the police.

Prosecution sources confirm that Ervin Duka used to be an ISIS militant in Syria, after being influenced by the self-proclaimed imams in Tirana.

Duka’s relatives say they thought he was in Saudi Arabia for studies, but he was leter wounded in battle and was returned home through Turkey and then Greece.

He was arrested after for other persons were caught in Shkoder, suspected of having contacted with ISIS representatives in Syria, such as Lavderim Muhaxheri, who had asked them to undertake a revenge attack during the Albania-Israel match.
