More than 150 hectares of agricultural land are under the power of water in the Bupq unit of Kruja, north of Tirana.
Due to the intense rainfall, the river Ishem came out of its banks and flooded the agricultural lands, as well as coming towards about 10 houses near it that were endangered by the water.
During the afternoon, the intensity of the rain decreased and the river returned to its bed, but the consequences of the floods still remain.
But the river is not the only problem of the residents as the flooding also comes from blocked drainage channels. “No one comes to unblock our drainage channels. The water comes on the streets and to our houses. No one is doing anything. They have come for a week in a row and have not fixed it” – said a resident of the area.
This is the panorama of every winter in the villages of Fushekruja. It only takes one rainy day and the river, littered with debris and not cleaned, overflows its bed and covers nearby farmland and homes.
