“Irinej, Albanian blood on his hands”

After the visit of the Serbian Patriarch in Tirana, for the Orthodox
Cathedral sanctification, and after his interview on Top Channel, saying
that Kosovo is a holy land for Serbia, many political leaders have
reacted harshly.

Albania’s former Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, condemned the declarations of Irinej on Facebook, considering him a ferocious enemy of the Albanian people, but on the same time, he considered the sanctification of the Cathedral as a historic event.

“The ultra-nationalist Irinej, whose hands have Albanian blood, should have never been invited with his declarations and hooligans. They showed that their only purpose was to turn this celestial act into a shameful act of conflict”, Berisha writes on Facebook.

Berisha accused Prime Minister Rama, saying that Irinej is the godfather of Rama’s visit to Belgrade.

The Head of the Prishtina Commune, Shpend Ahmeti, reacted on Facebook and declared:

“This visit has nothing to do with the freedom to faith or religious harmony, or any other liberalization. Most of the Albanian people, wherever they are, disagree with this visit. This is not a sign of a courageous leadership, but submission and failing to respect ourselves. When we fail to respect ourselves, no one will repsect us. What would the renaissance memebrs say today? What would Noli say today? Years of sacrifices thrown away with a useless decision. We need the Albanian people to show self confidence and respect for its own people”, Ahmeti declared.

Shpend Ahmeti underlined that he would never accept for this to be used as a division of the people.

“This is a simple sign of a weak leadership with complexes, and an amateur policy”, declared the Head of the Prishtina Commune.
