The number of foreigners who receive residential permission in Albania has increased with 9.7% in the past year, according to the Institution of Statistics.
There were 14.162 foreign residents living in Albania in 2018, and 12.900 in 2017.
On top of the list are the Iranian members of the Mujahedin Community, the opposition of Iran, which arrived in Albania after an agreement between the Albanian and American governments.
2223 Iranian citizens filed for a residential permit, followed by Italians with 1709, and Kosovo citizens with 996.
Turks and Americans come fourth, with 875 and 350 applications. The foreign community makes 0.5T of the total population.
