86% of 39 companies that answered to a poll made by the German
Association of Industry and Trade, declared that they would invest in
Albania again.
The evaluation of the current economic situation doesn’t change too much from the past year, but 13% of the participants evaluate the economic situation positively, 1% more than one year ago, 26% think that the situation is somewhat satisfactory, while 62% consider it negative.
The German ambassador to Tirana, Helmut Hofman, listed some of the factors that influence the decision of companies for investing in our country or not.
“I want to mention some facts that I consider as important. The German-Albanian businesses value the economic situation of Albania as somewhat better than in 2013. The criteria regarding the working power quality is positive in several views. But it once again clear that corruption, crime and the lack of legal security are considered as urgent problems with businesses”, Hofman declared.
The highest evaluation for the factors that are taken into account before coming and investing in our country, according to this poll, is the cost of the working power.
More than 1400 participating companies list Albania among the four less attractive countries for investments, including Kosovo, Belarus and Ukraine. This is because it is still an unknown country for investors.
But Ambassador Hofman says that the visit of Prime Minister Rama in Berlin will have a positive impact on this aspect.
