Investigation of OSHEE for price, former Director Seferi: “Company pressured for tender”

The former leaders of the Energy Distribution deny that the company has
been involved in any agreement with private energy sellers during the
second half of 2013 and the first months of 2014.

The former Director, Arben Seferi, says outside the cameras that tenders have been held in full accordance with the law. He says that the investigation of the competition authority has started after some unfounded complaints of a private company, which aimed to pressure the OSHEE and benefit tenders illegally.

Seferi explained the suspicions about the price difference for the energy purchase between KESH and OSHEE, which is one of the hottest points of this debate. According to him, the cause of this difference is the payment for the transmission lines, which KESH was receiving for free from the government while OSHEE by then was not under government control and had to buy energy from the System Transmission Operator.

According to Sereferi, this had increased the price up to 12 EUR for megawatt. He reminded that this was about a situation when water reserves were minimal. He said that energy was bought with an optimal price and this was just for show.
