The Prosecution has filed a criminal lawsuit against Parliament Members
Shkelqim Selami and Dashamir Tahiri, accused of forging official
documents.

The Prosecution acted based on the decriminalization law, which foresees this measure when the public official has not made a complete declaration of assets. MP Dashamir Tahiri declared that he was not aware of the Italian Court verdicts for falsifying a driving license.

“I didn’t know. I was notified by the Prosecution, which told me about this verdict. I took all necessary measures and addressed the Central Election Commission with an auto-declaration. But the driving license has never been falsified and I have received an attestation for this. I am also following other legal methods”, said Dashamir Tahiri.

Tahiri, an MP of the Party for Justice, Integration and Unity, but who is part of the Democratic Party, explained his accusations of forged currency.

“I purchased an orange juice from a high-way bar and the waiter returned me the rest of 5 EUR. Police arrived on the scene for clarification, but I wasn’t sentenced for that”, Tahiri said.

The opposition MP criticized the Prosceution, while the CEC, the only authority that can remove the mandate of a Parliamentary Member, has not specified when they will take a decision.
