Six doctors and nurses in Elbasan ended up in hospital, as patients,
after being poisoned by a dinner among colleagues in a suburban
restaurant.
Six people were sent to the ER this Tuesday, members of the Sadi Dinci Psychiatric Hospital staff, with signs of poisoning, vomits and diarrhea. Other persons who dined in that restaurant felt sick during the day, but in lighter conditions.
The chief of the Infective Pavilion, Elida Zhuzhuni, declared that the cause of this poisoning might be the pizza salmonella or even the consumption of alcoholic beverages.
“The Psychiatric personnel has 35 members, all of whom consumed pizza but five of them were in worse conditions. They are being treated for food poisoning”, Zhuzhuni declared.
The Hygiene Director for Elbasan, Agron Braho, declared that they have established a team that has analyzing the food samples.
According to Braho, they have taken all measures predicted by the law for finding out where the poisoning comes from.
