Investigation for Kurum grenade

Almost one week after the death of a 35-year-old worker in the Kurum
Metallurgic Plant, no one has been taken under police custody for the
tragedy. The victim, Gjergji Bodurri, was killed by the explosion of a
grenade in the scrap processing line of the turkish company “Kurum”.

The Prosecution of Elbasan is investigating for violation of safety measures. Gentian Osmani, head of the Elbasan Prosection, announced that the investigation is a priority of the institution that he leads.

The Prosecution is investigating if Bodurri was a worker of Kurum or of another subcontractual company. It is still unclear if the victim was ensured or not.

The Prosecution will also investigate what procedures the company uses for selecting the dangerous materials and their origin. Bodurri died on June 29th while working inside a crane when a grenade blew off from the pile of scrap metals.
