Investigation deadline for Saimir Tahiri postponed again

12/04/2018 20:20

Three months after demanding more time for the Habilaj-Tahiri investigations, the Prosecution of Serious Crimes demands another 90 days.

The postponement of the investigations was signed on June 18th, until the justice authorities in other countries (Greece and Italy) respond to two recommendations which will serve to the investigation.

The investigation group asked the High Inspectorate of Declaration and Audition of Assets to deposit the asset declaration of former Minister Tahiri for 2017.

This action comes at a time when the assets of the former Interior Minister are being investigated, as part of the anti-mafia law.

The authorities have asked property registration documents for Tahiri and his relatives, while the Court has not decided yet when they might review the Prosecution’s request, which insists that Tahiri should not be allowed to travel abroad.
