The Competition Authority is investigating the chances of the Energy
Distribution Company of having tricked tenders for buying energy, by
creating illegal agreements with private sellers.
The investigation started after the complaints made by a private company, but the suspects were reinforced by another factor.
“We want to identify the factors that have influenced the behavior of buyers for the second period of 2014 and the first months of 2014, when the market had a cheaper price than the transactions of OSHEE”, Lati underlines.
Official data raise suspicions that OSHE has bought enery by private operators with prices 20% higher than what the other company, KESH, had been buying them. The authority says the investigation is difficult and they are cooperating with foreign experts.
“Our purpose is to shed light on the entire process and show that the standards of the Competition Authority are equal to those of European countries”, Lati declared.
