International day against AIDS, 120 new cases in Albania

The official number of HIV/AIDS infected patients in Albania is 984, but
it could be higher, up to 1400. This is the first year that no newborn
child was diagnosed with HIV/AIDS, taking it from his mother.
Klodjan Rrjepaj, Deputy Health Minister, says that there are 100 new cases, mostly male.
90% of the are infected through unprotected sex. However, Albania has no epidemics among the risk groups.
On the international day of the war against HIV, the Deputy Health Minister underlined the importance of opening 14 advisory and testing centers throughout the country, as a preventing method.
