The Interior Ministry reacted to the accusations of the Democratic
Party, which said that the highest representatives of the State Police
are involved in drug traffic and other criminal activities.

The General Secretary of the Democratic Party, Arben Ristani, accused the police and the state administration, more specifically the Director of Operational Forces.

The Ministry issued a declaration in which they appeal the Democratic Party to stop obstructing their work, but start getting involved with those who fight crime, to make the life of citizens even safer.

“We want to make it clear to the public that the investigations to which this declaration refers have started and are undergoing by the Internal Matters Service at the Interior Ministry. The case is under investigation about a police officer who is already arrsted. We are also investigating the involvement of another police officer. During 2014, measures have been taken against 11% of the police staff. This shows that the law works on any police officer who doesn’t respect the law”, says the declaration of the Ministry of Interior.

“This is the only party that attacks the police and not criminals. Today, one former convict for corruption (Arben Ristani) continued with the daily absurd accusations against the Police, with the motto ‘let us slander on behalf of the party as long as we are not held responsible for what we say’”, the reaction says.
