The Interior Ministry reacted this Saturday about a drug quantity seized
in Germany, saying that this was a joint operation between the Albanian
and German police.
“This is an investigation of the German police which started this October, in cooperation with the Albanian police. We are investigating for drug traffic even in the past”, declared the Deputy Minister of Interior, Elona Gjebrea.
She rejected the opposition’s claims, saying that the neighboring and European Union countries are concerned about the drug traffic from Albania.
“Our neighbors and other countries not only are not concerned, but they are encouraged by the maximal commitment and the results reached by the Albanian police”, Gjebrea declared.
She quoted the statistics of the partner police agencies, which confirm the commitment of the Albanian government, and show that the drug in Albania has not been increased.
“The state police is determined to fight without compromise against the traffic of any kind of drug, in cooperation with all law enforcing agencies inside and outside the country”, Gjebrea declared.
