Interior Minister Fatmir Xhafaj reacted today about allegations made about him in the last days. In a press release published today, he said these accusations are defamations to damage his name.
“A campaign against me has begun. These accusations are false, fabricated and with not so ever connection with reality”, Xhafaj declared.
He also denied to have ever served on any position in the structures of the communist regime. “I have never worked a single day in the investigation agencies of the regime”, he added.
Xhafaj also said claims he has exerted violence on two people in 1986. “I feel sorry for these two individuals who have been misused in making those charges against me”, he said. “The leader of the opposition is just retelling stories fabricated by his political chief. Those accusations resurface every time I am assigned an important task”, Xhafaj added.
