For the Albanian Minister of Interior, Fatmir Xhafaj, this is the moment to establish the system that allows emigrants to vote from wherever they live, while the current law only allows them to vote in Albania.
“If political forces really want to make immigrants able to vote, this is the moment. The contribution of impartial experts from the OSCE and other international organizations will help us find a solution that offers trust to everyone”, Xhafaj declared.
For the Interior Minister, the ability to identify the location of emigrants is very important.
Xhafaj added that besides accurate identification, they should also guarantee vote secrecy.
