The Minister of Interior, Saimir Tahiri, met with security firms and
said that private security officers cannot offer security if they are
paid with wages lower than minimal.

“The private police needs high modern standards. We cannot expect standards if they are paid less than the minimal wage. The state police will inspect standards offered by companies and make sure they are paid according to the law, with 33.000 ALL”, Tahiri said.

“Contracts of private firms mount up to 20 million EUR a year, much more than what the state police takes in total. This financial potential should not go only into some specific pockets. They need to pay their private officers more”, Tahiri said.
