Interior Minister: “No asylum in EU countries”

The Interior Minister appealed all Albanians to respect
the visa free movement in the Schengen area and not request asylum in
the European Union countries, since it will be impossible to have it granted.
“It is impossible today to succeed with an asylum request in the European Union. Albania is not considered anymore as a country from where people can request asylum. We are determined to fight this phenomenon with our partners for the social and economic dimension, but mostly for the criminal one”, Tahiri declared.
The Interior Minister was welcoming Lord Taylor of Holbeach, Minsiter of State for Emigration in Great Britain, who traveled together with 49 Albanians who were staying in Britain illegally.
“I have arrived with 49 people who were living in England illegally, and we have deported them. We are obliged to take such measures, and on behalf of the British government, I am happy to say that we have a good cooperation to fight not only immigration, but also crime in general”, declared Lord Taylor of Holdbeach.
Both ministers emphasized the fact that there will be no asylums for anyone and that Albania and Britain are cooperating in the fight against human traffic.
