The European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction, with its
headquarters in Losbon, published the annual report in which they
mention Albania for the increased cannabis cultivation and drug traffic
in Europe.

The Minister of Interior, Dritan Demiraj, said he is committed to take Albania out of the cultivation map.

Demiraj has started an intensive communication not only with police leaders, but also with leaders of other agencies, such as the Secret Service Director, Chief Prosecutor and Prosecutor of Serious Crimes, for a coordinated reaction and for an uncompromised fight against this phenomenon.

The Ministry of Interior underlined that this fight will be extended from the total inspection of the territory to the destruction of criminal groups who are involved with drug traffic, and also police officers who help them.

The new Technical Minister, Dritan Demiraj, congratulated the State Police for preventing the drug traffic, and guarantees full support to all structures for implementing the Action plan against the Cultivation and Traffic of Cannabis for the 2017-2020 period.
