More Chinese companies have shown interest for Albania in the past two
years, according to the Xinhua news agency, which could turn Albania
into the center of their investments for Western Balkan.
Xinhua quotes the Head of the Albanian Investment Development Agency, Genti Beqiri, confirming that the interest of Chines companies is oriented towards strategic sectors and have increased the international trade level.
90 Chinese companies have arrived in Albania during the past year, showing interest to cooperate and focusing on energy, infrastructure, mining and processing.
There are currently 150 Chinese companies operating in Albania, including largest investments such as Bankers Petroleum and the management of the Tirana International Airport. Chinese companies are also showing interest to sign long-term agreements with companies operating in the chrome area, since China is the biggest buyer of this mineral.
