The Parliament Speaker, Jozefina Topalli, met today the director for Europe at the Foreign Ministry of Netherlands,
The main focus was on the 12 recommendations that Albania must fulfill for receiving the EU candidate status.
The representative of the Dutch Foreign Ministry guaranteed the support of his country for Albania’s EU integration, declaring that the Albanian political class should answer with the same will of the Albanian people for being part of the European Union.
During the meeting with the Dutch diplomat, the Albanian Parliament Speaker blamed the opposition that, according to her, has blocked the qualified majority laws for two years through boycott.
However, the Parliament Speaker declared that she sees the current cooperation between the parties through some reforms that demand qualified majority.
Speaking on the necessity for limiting the immunity for MPs, judges and high rank officials, which is also one of the 12 key EU recommendations, Mrs. Topalli declared that the time lost by the opposition is unjustifiable.
