The number of active economic enterprises in Albania has increased with
5.5% in 2016, compared to one year ago, going up to 160500 units.
The Institution of Statistics published the data about the registration of enterprise.
By the end of 2016 there were 31372 registered farmers, from 18543 that there were in total in 2015.
The number of new registered enterprises was above 31.000, with a 44.8% drop compared to 2015. Most of the 70% are service producers.
Retail trade keeps being on top, with 31.9%, besides the trade of vehicles and motorcycles.
91% of active enterprises are small businesses with 1 to 4 workers.
