The economic crisis has obliged 54.000 Albanian minors to be involved in hard work.

INSTAT shows that 7.7% iof the Albanian children work in agriculture, trade, construction, mines and retail. But the biggest problem are the long working hours and the difficult conditions.

The study shows that 2.5% of these children who are all males work in mines for very long hours; 2.7% work in markets or on the street, facing extreme temperatures, pollution and dust.
Most of these children have dropped from school and are working with very long hours. The issue becomes even more problematic when the Albanian laws state that children from 5 to 13 years of age who should not work a single hour during the week, are 28% of the children that work.

According to INSTAT, 28% of the children who work in Albania are living in Elbasan; 19% in Korce; 13% in Shkoder, 9% in Tirana and most of them have been hurt in work, show signs of fatigue or have taken other diseases.
