The Official ceremony held for the Independence Day brought together the
highest officials of the Albanian state and representatives of the
entire political spectrum.

Regardless the accusations and the lack of institutional communication for more than one year, followed by many controversies, the Albanian President, Bamir Topi, the Prime Minister Sali Berisha and the Parliament Speaker, Jozefina Topalli, were together at “Pallati i Brigadave”.

“There is no greatest honor for Albania than receiving the invitation for EU membership in the 100th year of Independence; putting into practice and strengthen the functional democracy, the rule of law; consolidating the basic pillars of the state: the independent constitutional institutions, the functional justice system, the good governing model and the social mission of the state”, declared Bamir Topi in his speech.

The head of the state referred to the progress that the Albanian politics has had recently.

“Too much energy was spent for a non-productive political debate, by placing parallel partial agendas above the national ones that are for the public. In the last days and weeks, politics has returned to institutions and dialogue table. My hope and encouragement, as for most of the citizens in this country, is that reason and responsibility should prevail above political interests, in order to give to the Albanian state and society, without further delays and with the right quality, the reforms, the climate and the results that guarantee integration standards in the EU”, declared Bamir Topi, head of the Albanian State.

President Topi added that the 100th anniversary is a good occasion for making a political balance, for learning from the past and for progressing with the right lucidity.

After the speech, the President and the Prime Minister greeted the guests at the Pallati i Brigadave.
