The Albanian President, Bujar Nishani, will consult the heads of
Parliamentary Groups for what his press release considers
“identification of the best values” that must represent the next
Prosecutor.

The meeting will start this Tuesday at the Presidency and will be similar to the meeting that was held for the election date.

But meanwhile, the Albanian president has started an unofficial meeting with Prime Minister Berisha, who visited him at 16:00 and stayed there for one hour.

The Presidency gave no details about this meeting, but it is not difficult to understand that more than the situation created with CEZ, the meeting was about another political actuality, which has turned into a main issue, and that is the election of the new General Prosecutor.

Prime Minister Berisha tried to keep a low profile about the New Prosecutor’s issue, probably due to the pressure of the public opinion and the international community about this case.

Berisha also failed to mention this topic for not reinforcing the idea that he is the one that dictates the appointments, or at least that he is the one that discharges the leaders of independent institutions.

The newest party led by the former President, Bamir Topi, might not be invited even this time. However, it’s almost official that the President has taken the decision and that Albania maybe has an outgoing Prosecutor.
