Ina Rama’s case at Administrative Court

The Administrative Court completed the studying of the case between the
former Prosecutor General, Ina Rama, who is trying to force the High
Council of Justice to appoint her at the Tirana Court of Appeal.

After hearing the conclusions of both sides, the Court withdrew for taking a verdict, which will be announced after four days.

Mrs.Rama’s lawyer, Fatmir Braka, declared that the former decision of the HCJ rejected their request for a trial, and that is not only illegal, but also politically motivated.

Braka is still suspicious for the influence of the HCJ in this trial, although he tries to not used prejudices for this decision.

Rama was Albania’s Prosecutor General from 2007 to 2012, and she filed a civil complaint right after the HCJ refused to reappoint her as judge.

Rama not only insists to be appointed at the Tirana Court of Appeal, but she also demands a compensation from the HCJ, which caused a two-year delay, and also for moral purposes.

Her argument is not only the law, but also the vacancies at the Court of Appeal, especially for the fact that some of the HCJ members, according to her, were in conflict of interest when they took the decision, since they were also judges at the Court of Appeal.
