The Guard of the Republic will protect not only the head of SPAK prosecution and the head of the Anticorruption Court, but also every special judge and prosecutor who investigates organized crime and corruption, the government announced today.
This is the conclusion reached by the group that is examining the security measures, after the discovery of the assassination plan against the prosecutors Doloreza Musabelliu and Merita Selimi.
In the proposals is expected that the protection of people who investigate organized crime is also included a period of two years after the end of their mandates. However, apart from the visible forces on the ground, the main burden will fall on those agents who deal with the information research, which in the case of the threat to prosecutor Musabelliu was signaled by a repentant member of a criminal group.
In the new recommendations, the escorting rules of prosecutors remains unchanged, as well as the use of the VIP lounge at the airport for prosecutors and judges, not only for official visits but also for services.
Since the second meeting with closed doors attended by the director general of the State Police, the Minister of the Interior, the head of the Guard, and chief prosecutor Altin Dumani, it has also been suggested that apart from the Guard, the SPAK building should also be guarded by the State Police.
