Bar owners and manager must take in consideration the amends of the
anti-smoking law, since fines will not be given selectively anymore.
“We want to implement this law in every corner of Albania, and not to penalize only some bars. Every business should be treated equally. That’s the only way to have a honest competition”, declared Arjan Collaku, manager.
The anti-smoking law has failed twice, because not all subjects were fined and because bar owners were unable to convince clients.
In most of the cases, politicians and MPs were the ones interfering for not allowing the fines to be implemented.
“If clients will also be fined, this is easier for us because we will not have to tell them not to smoke. But there should be no favors to bar owners who have ties in courts and tax offices”, declared Nori Dushkaj, a bar manager.
Bar owners will be fined with 300,000 ALL, managers with 50,000 ALL, and clients with 5000 ALL if caught smoking.
Popular figures will have fines ten times higher.
