The Parliament Speaker, Jozefina Topalli, has held a meeting with the
rapporteur of the Foreign Commission at the European Parliament, the EMP
Nicholaos Chountis.
Topalli declared during this meeting that the majority is determined to use all tools offered by the law and the constitution to realize the immunity removal as a key request in the EC request.
According to the press release, Topalli declared that she is expecting a positive reaction from the opposition for limiting or removing the immunity.
The European MP Chountis underlined that the entire political class must dialogue and cooperate for the immunity removal.
“Not only because the immunity removal is a request of the European Council, but because this is a good method for gaining transparency and for the war against corruption”, he underlined.
