After the World Bank, the IMF has also increased the prediction for Albania’s economic growth in 2018.

In the last report, called “World Perspective Economy”, the IMF underlined that Albania’s GDP is expected to grow with 4% this year. The previous prediction was 3.7%.

Based on the data provided by INSTAT, half of the growth derives from the improved situation with the energy production. The industrial sector also increased with 12.5%.

This is the fifth consequent year that the Albania’s growth rate is improving. According to the IMF, this positive trend is expected to end the next year and draw back to 3.7%, mainly due to the completion of the Trans Adriatic Pipeline and the Devoll Cascade.
