The Minister of Energy, Damian Gjiknuri, asked the Technical Central
Inspectorate to close the illegal oil refinery as soon as possible.
According to Gjiknuri, some businesses that work with the recycling of
oils have started producing oil illegally.
“We have the problem of illegal refineries. This phenomenon took place in Albania during the past years, even with the law amends that unfortunately have created space for the construction of recycling plants, but with the only goal to take the crude oil and mix it, for launching the product on the market. This will not be allowed any longer. We are preparing legal amends, so that this industry passes under full state control, and you, as an inspectorate, should exert all the competences that the law gives you for hitting this phenomenon”, Gjiknuri declared.
The Minister of Energy declared that the audit should expand even in the gas and electricity market. Last year, the Central Technical inspectorate held 3400 audits, making several penalizations.
“The approved electrical code and the electric standards should be prepared in the future. The institutions that will do this need to be certified, and the inspectorate will have the authority to survey these standards. The industrial standards are very important for the citizens’ life and for our country”, Gjiknuri declared.
