The Saranda Municipality Construction Inspectorate, supported by the
Municipal Police and the State Police, have started demolishing at least
10 illegal constructions in Saranda.

These objects made mainly of light materials were built during the electoral campaign, with the hope that they would be legalized. But among them there were iron constructions, car washes and building additions.

Some of the owners resisted, but the first phase ended calmly in general. According to the Municipality, this action was also for giving a message to everyone else who is building illegally. The Mayor Stefan Cipa declared that there will be a second phase by the end of the season, which will return to Saranda the green space and the beaches.

“We have spoken several times for these constructions that have been made during electoral campaigns. The Sartanda Municipality has zero tolerance for illegal constructions”, Cipa declared.

During May and June, dozens of new objects have been constructed with light materials in Saranda. The local leaders declared that they will implement the urban plan without any hesitation.
