If there are no red lines in the border with Serbia, there shouldn’t be with Albania either

The Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo, Enver hoxhaj, declared that if Belgrade and Brussels think that the red line in the border with Serbia should not exist, it shouldn’t exist with Albania as well.

“Today, after 12 years, we are at the final phase of the dialogue with Serbia. We have open matters with our Northern neighbor and we want this dialogue to serve to a full normalization of the relations between both countries, and with a mutual recognition and and accession of Kosovo in the UN. We also need reconciliation between Kosovo and Serbia, after a century iold conflict. But if someone in Belgrade and Brussels thinks that normalizing  the relations with Serbia means not having any red line at the border, then this red line should not exist with Albania as well”, Hoxhaj declared.

As for the joint investments between Albania and the EU for building this new border checkpoint, Hoxhaj said that this is one of the most important events, since this is the most loaded border checkpoint as regards the movement of people and goods between our countries or in Balkan.

“In the past 24 hours only 24,000 people have crossed the border with Albania. We are grateful to the border police of Albania and Kosovo, and to the Customs. We expect travel to be easier this summer”, he said.
