The International Energy Agency has denied the accusations that were
amplified by the opposition, that Albania had broken the oil embargo
against Iran.
Magdalena Sanocka, spokesperson of the International Energy Agency declared for “Balkan Insight” that this “agency has never suggested that Albania had broken the sanctions, and those who reported the opposite of this must correct their declarations”.
Spokesperson Sanocka explained that the report of the International Energy Agency mentions Albania as a temporary destination for an Iranian ship that had another destination.
“The ship owners always declare the temporary destinations when the ship leaves the port before the load is sold. This is why Albania is mentioned”, the Spokesperson declared.
She says that the ship called “Swallaw” belongs to National Iranian Tanker, and its destination was Turkey.
