If the First Instance Court of Kavaja and then the Durres Court of
Appeal had followed the request of the Prosecution, Fadil Kasemi would
be still in prison for the first attempt to kill his wife, Judge Fildez
Hafizi.
At least this is the idea created after one reads the appeal made by the Durres Court of Appeals at the Supreme Court, for changing the measure against Kasemi and convict him from three to five years in prison.
Prosecutor Ferdinand Elezi considers Kasemi a high danger that deserves more than three years in prison. The Prosecutor even underlines that the court should consider that the author might commit even more serious crimes if released.
But this prediction has not been enough for the two courts. While the Supreme Court did not review the appeal on time to save the life of Judge Hafizi.
