Colleagues and relatives walked silently close to the coffin of
Commander Simon Gjeta, at the Martyrs’ Cemetery. Present in the homage
ceremony were the US Ambassador, the Interior Minister, the opposition
leader and many others.
President Nishani rewarded Commander Gjeta with the Golden Eagle Medal, Post Mortum, valuing his heroism and dedication to his work.
Gjeta lost his life two days ago, during an operation for catching a suspect who resisted to the police.
