Homage for May 5th, Rama: “Albania on the right track of history”

As in every May 5th, the leaders of the majority paid homage to the
sacrifice and life that our martyrs have given for freedom. Different
from one year ago, those who are nostalgic of the communist regime paid
homage after the ceremony of the majority, maybe to avoid attacks of the
political adversaries.

The message of Prime Minister Edi Rama and Parliament Speaker Ilir Meta came before that of the candidate for the Tirana City Hall, Erion Veliaj.

“This is the time to remind the 20 years olds of the past 70 yers who took this to the right direction, that of Europe. These people with ideals are still alive. They are fighting even today to take Albania on the right direction”, Veliaj declared.

“The foundations of this Euroatlantic Albania have the sublime sacrifice of Qemal Stafa and thousands of other Albanian young men and women who gave their lives”, declared the Parliament Speaker, Ilir Meta.

“We are here today with the pride of being part of the social-political efforts and make the fatherland of Qemal Stafa and other martyrs decent for their sublime sacrifice”, Rama declared.

While in opposition, Rama had declared that the ideals of the martyrs have been betrayed not only by those who installed the dictatorial regime, but also during the transition period. Rma thinks that Albania today is on the right track.

He argues this with the fact that the measures taken by this government are different, not done to give them a longer time in power, but to guarantee that the state is being built.
