The Himara tragedy investigations are being conducted by the Vlore
Prosecution, while the data about the organization of the expedition and
the inspection of the transport company, Llixha 2001, is being held in
Elbasan.
The State Police says that the driver lost his life due to the traumas caused during the accident, excluding any possible heart attack.
The investigations are focused on the technical situation of the vehicle. According to the Elbasan Prosecution, the vehicle had passed the technical control a few weeks ago, on April 2012, while the driver was experienced and with the necessary permit.
An eye witness declared that the bus had accelerated at the road had a declination of 17degrees, and after crashing twice along the sidewall, the bus went straight ahead. The witness says that he heard a strong breaking squeak and then he saw the bus tipping over and rolling down the cliff.
After the accident, traffic police experts inspected the remaining parts of the destroyed vehicle.
Rector: Will review the education plan
The rector of the Alexander Xhuvani Universityin Elbasan, Liman Varoshi, visited the Military Hospital and the injured girls of the tragic accident that took place in Himara.
The rector declared that after this tragedy, they will see the education plan with a more critic eye, since the expedition are part of it, but he gave no information about the way how the plan instructed the students’ traveling method.
